Feeding Foxes, Treating Foxes

Meet Foxy, Carrot Cake, and Scrappy.  These foxes are just about done with their mange treatment.  Check out how well they're doing.

Mange is a skin disease caused by mites.  Mites are on and under the skin, and are extremely itchy.   Skin infection from mites and constant scratching causes fur loss, scaly skin, and immune issues.  If left untreated, foxes can die from starvation because they are unable to hunt.  Mites can spread from one fox to another and to pets.  Treatment usually takes 6 weeks or more depending on the severity.
